Division of historical research and cultural heritage monument monitoring
Department of monument research
This department carries out operative and standard constructional historical research, operative documentation, urbanistic research, archival research, and takes wood samples for dendrochronological analyses throughout the South Bohemian District.
Priority is given to research and documentation of a rescue character on monuments which are endangered by either destruction or by a significant decrease in architectural or historical value. For special types of monuments, and for those for which the office does not have the sufficient personnel, the department facilitates contacts to specialists (especially as part of the NIPCMS).
Department of cultural heritage monument monitoring
In accordance with a valid nation-wide method, this department observes monuments written into the world heritage fund within the district's region (Český Krumlov, Holašovice). The results of such observation are archived for internal usage and upon request of the regional office summarized into annual and periodic reports. The department also carries out other tasks regarding the inclusion of nomination of cultural heritage monuments as per the request of the monitoring coordinator of the regional office in České Budějovice.
