The information fund department gathers and keeps written, graphic, map, and photographic documentation for evidenced and non-evidenced monuments, serving especially for the internal needs of the NIHMC for carrying out the agendas under its authority, and also makes this material accessible to owners, offices, and other authorized persons or entities and researchers. It carries out consultation and provides informational services. All loans by the department are done in a presentational manner in the confines of the study center, while their extent and focus are realized with respect to the specific character of certain types of documentational materials and the operational possibilities of the center. Part of the documentational materials are, due to their specific nature (castle items in the care of the regional offices, movable cultural monuments), administered by the Division of Evidence and Documenation P3 (department of basic evidence and inventorial items, office of movable monuments).
As part of the information fund of the department, an internal library also exists with a specialized literary fund, serving especially the needs of the NIHMC but made accessible to owners, offices, and researchers. The literary fund at present is classified and will be accompanied by an electronic catalogue. Loans are permitted within the confines of the study center. Until the electronic catalogue is complete, loans are provided in a limited fashion.
The informational fund department also secures the distribution of publications issued by the regional office as part of a prepared edition plan.
